I walked to the library alone, when I realized that you followed me from our classroom. You grasped me from the back and pulled me toward your body. You held me tight like you’d think it could never end.
From a peck to a whisper, you said, “This isn’t working.” I escaped from your embrace to see your eyes upfront and burst into the words like, “Then why are you still trying so hard?” In a kneel, you responded with no knowledge like it was a joke, like we were a joke…
I walked away with disgust.
I woke up to realize it was just a dream. I was relieved but the pressure was still towards my chest… to know that we already broke up days ago in this breathing truth we live on.
